In 2016, the American Disney Animation titled Moana gained massive success. The worldwide total for the film’s earnings is now over $600 million.
Many people were moved by Ron Clements and John Musker’s exciting film, Moana, which begs the question: will there be a sequel? Unfortunately, the production of Moana 2 has not yet been confirmed.
Moana Returns: Get Ready for a Second Wave of Fun

The United States premiere of Moana took place on November 23, 2016. On March 7, 2017, in the United States, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released the film on Blu-ray (2D and 3D) and DVD. On February 21, 2017, the album was released digitally.
The details of Disney’s Moana sequel are currently scant. The Rock and Auli’i are both rumored to be in talks with Disney about a new film. These whispers have sparked hopes that Moana is hatching a daring strategy for her return. There has been no formal announcement or discussion of this matter up to this point.
This animated tale with a plethora of new experiences is likely to be released around 2023. Moana 2, an American 3D CGI musical fantasy adventure film, is scheduled for release in 2023. Walt Disney Films produced and released the film after it was made. The film, a sequel to the 2016 original, is scheduled for a June 21, 2023 debut.
The Island Calls Again: Discover the Stars of Moana 2
Even though it’s hard to say who may make a return in this exciting animated feature, fans are hoping to see familiar faces like:
- The ocean selects Moana (Auli’I Cravalho), the daughter of chief Tui and his wife Sina, to restore Te Fiti’s beating heart.
- Maui, a heroic shape-shifting demigod who travels with Moana, is voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. An irascible, strong-willed deity.
- Tala, the maternal grandmother of Tui and Moana, is portrayed by Rachel House.
- Temuera Marrison plays Chief Tui of Motunui Island and Tala’s son, who is also Moana’s father.
- Jemaine Clement plays the malevolent coconut crab Tamatoa in What We Do in the Dark. Tamatoa hails from
- Lalotai, the Realm of Monsters.
- Sina, played by Nicole Scherzinger. Moana’s mom, the leader of the village, and Moi’s dad’s wife.
- Alan Tudyk voices Heihei, Moana’s alien pet. He also provides the third Villager’s voice.
- Little Moana, played by Louise Bush
- Oscar Kightley as the fisherman Chris Jackson as Tui’s singing voice.

Moana 2 Plot: Island of Mystery and Magic
In the film Moana, the protagonist is an independent young woman who sets out on an epic quest to unite a sacred artifact with the ocean goddess Te Fiti. She hopes that the fabled demigod Maui will come back to her island with the relic so that she can bring it back to Te Fiti and save her people if the island is struck by a bright light.
Where Moana 2 will start remains a mystery. It is believed that the sequel will pick up after the end of the original film, which depicted Moana’s triumphant homecoming after her epic trip.
