As the season draws to a close, it’s become abundantly evident that the show more than lived up to its billing as a top-tier anime. Fans first labeled Buddy Daddies as the next Spy x Family, but the show quickly established its niche thanks to its endearing family-focused tale, unusual character designs, and strong storytelling.
Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa, two professional assassins, take in a young girl after killing her father on a job and raise her as their own in this anime series. Yet, it’s not as simple as it looks to raise a child.
There is a lot of work that goes into raising Miri, such as purchasing her clothes and putting her through school. They will do all it takes to protect Miri and provide her with the greatest life they can.
Nevertheless, not everyone shares Kazuki and Rei’s joy, and the couple now has a significant target on their backs due to their expanded family. Keeping their assassination job a secret while also taking care of a child may prove to be one of Kazuki and Rei’s most difficult missions.
Buddy Daddies was one of the more original shows of the season since it dared to go in a different direction than the rest of the anime. The show’s emphasis on humor and family over action made for a refreshing spin on the “found family” storyline.
Buddy Daddies Season 2: Renewed or Canceled?
As of the writing of this piece, a second season of Buddy Daddies has not been ordered. Anime series often finish without announcing a second season, especially if they haven’t yet garnered a significant following.
As this is a completely new series with no manga or light novels to draw inspiration from, the studio may be waiting to see how well the first season does before committing to more episodes.
There’s also a chance that the studio is waiting until the season finale airs before making any statements, given that the show has yet to air its final few episodes.
I don't really follow ongoing anime closely but Buddy Daddies has that charm that made me decide otherwise

Anime has a history of surprising viewers with renewal news in a post-credits sequence following the final episode of the season. Unpredictability is commonplace in anime, especially in freshly created works. Most viewers would like to hear about a new season as soon as possible, but it may be weeks or months before that happens.
Although lacking any sort of inspiration material, Buddy Daddies nevertheless managed to do rather well on the air. I wouldn’t be shocked if the series was revived in the future or given a few OVAs, given its 7.88 MyAnimeList Score, which places it among the top spots of the season.
Nevertheless, we probably won’t hear anything about season two of Buddy Daddies for quite some time. This anime could be a one-and-done affair, depending on how the current season concludes. Fans are on board with whatever the studio decides, despite their want to see more of Kazuki, Rei, and Miri’s family experiences.
Buddy Daddies Season 2 Lacks Excitement
Without official word from Aniplex, Nitroplus, or P.A. Works, we may assume that Season 2 of Buddy Daddies is not happening. After enduring many trials, Miri and her papas finally managed to move in together as a true family towards the end of the first season.
Former assassins Kazuki and Rei are now the respectable proprietors of a beachside eatery called Diner Nest. Miri, who will soon begin her freshman year of high school, is now 14 years old. Kyuutaro and the other characters appear to be happy with where their lives have taken them by the end of the series.
Although the series concluded on a positive note and left no room for a second season to be made, Buddy Daddies will not be returning for a second run. A second season of Buddy Daddies has been requested by fans in light of the series’ widespread acclaim, but unfortunately, this is not going to happen anytime soon.

It’s difficult to foresee what will happen in the show because it’s an anime original and doesn’t follow any preexisting manga or light novel series.
Due to the ten-year time jump established in the series’ conclusion, fans of Buddy Daddies can look forward to a new spin-off series instead of a second season.
With any luck, the series’ co-creators will surprise viewers with a brand new episode of Buddy Daddies in the not-too-distant future.

Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa, two assassins with very different personalities, share a house in Buddy Daddies. During one trip, they come across Miri Unasaka, a young girl of four.

The anime original series Buddy Daddies premiered on January 7, 2023, and is a collaboration between Aniplex, P.A. Works, and Nitroplus. The anime was produced by P.A. Works, the company responsible for Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and Angel Beats!, and directed by Yoshiyuki Asai (Charlotte, Fate/Apocalypse).
The texts were written by Vio Shimokur and Yuuko Kakihara, while the character designs were done by Katsumi Enami. In addition to them, Souchirpo Sako adapted the designs for the cartoon.
