Even famous people can let their parents down. Ashley McBryde is a brilliant country singer with a promising future, but she had a difficult upbringing that contributed to many of the challenges she faced. The daughter of William McBryde and Martha Wilkins, Ashley McBryde entered the world in 1983. Ashley showed early musical interest as a child in Arkansas and tried to teach herself guitar using her dad’s instrument.
Her parents gave her a guitar and encouraged her to teach herself to play. Ashley took a gamble on a career in music after finishing college.
The career was a huge success in the end, but it wasn’t without its drawbacks. Ashley told CBS News that her father, who is ill with a degenerative condition, was not happy with her decision to become a journalist.
Happy Fathers Day to the best stepdad in the world. Stepdad seems like an odd term. You’re my Pop and I’m your baby. #loveunconditionally pic.twitter.com/9J5brRCJH0

Her Father Encouraged Ashley to Pursue a Career in Medical
Ashley added in the interview, “Only a few years back, right when he was first getting sick, we took a trip together.” ‘Oh, just tell me something,’ he responded. Tell me you’ll enroll in medical school once you’ve made enough money and had your fill of the music industry.
You can say whatever you want about me and my band, but my dad doesn’t like the music we make. So, how much damage would your words do to me if you say that?
Ashley noted that she guards her father’s privacy as he battles his illness. Despite her enormous success, she keeps secrets from him. “I’m careful, about the things I share with him, because it’s essential to me,” Ashley explained.
Nevertheless, “it’s not necessarily a big deal to him,” she added. I told my dad, “You know, Daddy, I’m not just – I’m not just playing bars anymore. I am now engaged in arena play. We are currently on a globe tour.

I’m – I’m proud of you, he told me. Didn’t say “of you,” but that’s what everyone hopes their dad thinks. Indeed, everyone does. Ashley was met with skeptics even after she began to achieve success.
She was advised to begin running to shed pounds at an early photo shoot in Nashville. If a bear came after me, I wouldn’t flee,” Ashley declared. Specifically, “I need you to lose 10 pounds, 20 pounds, 30 pounds if you can. Every day of my life, I try to drop 10, 20, and 30 pounds, just like every other woman on the planet.
Ashley has maintained her dedication to doing the highest quality job she is capable of accomplishing throughout her career. It seems she made the right choice, albeit she probably won’t be able to please everyone.

Ashley grew up with music from artists like The Carpenters and Kris Kristofferson playing in the background. When she was just 12 years old, she decided she wanted to be a singer-songwriter and composed her first song.
McBryde played the French horn in her high school band and then went on to study it at Arkansas State University. She was also a regular performer in Memphis, Tennessee’s nightclubs about the same time.
McBryde was discouraged from continuing her undergraduate education by a lecturer who saw that she wasn’t interested in music. So she did that day, she said.
