According to Mission Local, Nima Momeni, a tech entrepreneur who was reportedly friends with Bob Lee, was arrested as the murder suspect on Thursday, April 13.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Momeni is the proprietor of Expand IT and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. He reportedly started working there in 2010.

Nima Momeni has worked in technology for quite some time, having begun his career as a systems engineer in Marfic.

After working as an engineer for a few years, Momeni changed careers and became an information technology consultant for a number of San Francisco firms, including Coast Range Technologies and Diablo IT.

The police have reportedly stated that Bob Lee was not the victim of a random attack, but rather died as a result of a fight that broke out between two people they knew.

At some point in the early hours of April 4, Lee and Momeni were driving about the downtown San Francisco area in Momeni’s automobile when they got into an argument.

While they were still on the road, a fight apparently broke out between them, and when Lee got out and started walking away, the two continued fighting in the streets. The knife Momeni used to stab Lee multiple times was found at the site by the police.

Bob Lee was not the victim of a random crime, according to the police.

The outlet quotes police from Mission Local as saying that Bob Lee was not killed in a random act of violence, but rather during a quarrel with a known acquaintance.

The news source claims that on the morning of April 4th, Lee was stabbed by Momeni after the two got into an argument in Momeni’s car as they drove about the downtown San Francisco region.

According to the police, an altercation broke out in the streets after Lee exited the car and started walking away while they were still driving about the area.

Police say Momeni then repeatedly attacked Lee with a knife they found at the scene. As Lee bled to death nearby, the suspect ran away.

Video surveillance near the scene of the incident saw an injured Bob Lee staggering along empty Main Street before approaching a parked automobile that sped away after rejecting Lee’s cries for aid.

The footage shows Lee dragging himself back towards Main St., where he collapses outside an apartment block, leaving a trail of blood behind him.

After police arrived at the scene at 2:35 a.m. in response to the stabbing report, Lee was spotted going towards the parked police car. Shortly after that, despite emergency personnel’s best efforts, the victim died from his wounds.

Bob Lee died while on a vacation to San Francisco

It is believed that Bob Lee, who had recently relocated to Miami, was visiting the Bay Area at the time of his murder. Multiple sources claim that after spending many years in San Francisco, Lee recently relocated to Miami.

The passing of Lee, the creator of the payment app Square, was met with widespread grief and swift tributes from those who knew him. Bob Lee’s close friend Phil Barkett said that he was a kind person and a wonderful parent to his two girls.

“He was charismatic, he was brilliant…his dedication to his kids was first and foremost, he was the father of the year. Bob was also a patriot, he loved his country.”

According to Mission Local, Momeni was detained by San Francisco police in Emeryville. No new details about the case have been released by authorities as of yet.
