Nora Forster Death:- Johnny Rotten’s ex-wife, Nora Forster, has passed away from complications related to Alzheimer’s disease. She has had Alzheimer’s disease for seven years now. Nora Forster, who had been fighting this illness for decades, passed away at age 80.
She abandoned her husband and young children. In Munich, Germany, she worked as a music promoter in addition to her acting career. Johnny Rotten and German actress Nora Forster have been together for 43 years. John is the stepfather of Nora’s daughter Ariane, who was born to her and her ex-husband Frank Forster, but the couple does not have any children of their own.

Alzheimer’s disease took Nora Forster’s life. For the past seven years, she has been afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease. She passed away at the age of eighty on April 6, 2023. Her ex-husband, Frank Forster, is the father of her daughter, Ariane.

Nora Forster Early Life
Nora Maier Forster was born to a prosperous publishing family on November 6, 1942, in Munich, Germany. Franz Karl Maier, her father, was the editor-in-chief of Der Spiegel and the publisher of Der Tagesspiegel.
She received her education in Munich and developed a love of music at a young age. She started working for her father’s media company as soon as she graduated from high school.
She was a Der Spiegel publishing heiress. She received a $120 million inheritance from her father’s fortune following his passing.

Nora Forster Career
In Munich, Forster started her career as a music promoter. There, her house turned to become a gathering place for “rock royalty”. Jimi Hendrix, Wishbone Ash, and Yes were a few of the musicians she collaborated with in Germany. In the latter half of the 1960s, she decided to go to London with her daughter because she felt German society to be too constricting.
Their first apartment was in West London, close to the Chelsea football stadium, and it was described as “cold, damp, and dark.” After that, they relocated to a modest home in South London’s Gowrie Road. She became known as a “Punk Mummy Warrior” during this period for supporting the growth of her daughter Ari Up’s band, The Slits when Ari was only fourteen or fifteen years old.
Neneh Cherry, Don Cherry’s teen stepdaughter, was one of several musicians that visited Forster at his home. Cherry once provided The Slits with backing vocals. Forster was active in London’s bohemian scene in the 1960s and 1970s.
Beginning in the late 1960s, rock musicians such as Joe Strummer of The Clash, Jimi Hendrix, Jon Anderson of the band Yes, and many other bands used Forster’s home in Shepherd’s Bush as a crash pad, salon, and gathering spot. She provided financial support for The Slits, Sex Pistols, and The Clash, three punk bands.
Forster started promoting musical events in London in 1970. In Vivienne Westwood’s clothes store Sex on Kings Road in west London in 1975, Forster first met John Lydon of the Sex Pistols. She wed Lydon, who was 14 years her junior, in 1979. In Düsseldorf, they got married.
She formerly dated Chris Spedding, a well-known musician, and producer of rock music. She was a significant shareholder in the West Berlin-based newspaper Die Tagesspiegel in 1986. In the 1980s, Forster and Lydon relocated to California.
Nora Forster Personal Life
With Frank Forster, a German singer of popular music, Forster had a daughter named Ariane, also known as Ari Up, who went on to become the lead singer and frontwoman of The Slits. Forster and Lydon took custody of Ari Up’s three kids after Forster’s daughter passed away in 2010 from breast cancer.
Forster married Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. vocalist John Lydon in 1979. She passed away in 2023 after a 44-year marriage. Forster and Lydon were scheduled to board Pan Am Flight 103 on December 21, 1988, the fatal flight that was bombed over Lockerbie, but they were unable to do so because of difficulties with their luggage.
The twin boys of Up, Pablo and Pedro, were given to Forster and Lydon as guardians in 2000. Later, Forster and Lydon took custody of Wilton, Up’s third kid. 48-year-old Up passed away from breast cancer in 2010. In 2018, Forster received an Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis.
She resided with Lydon, who served as her full-time caregiver while he wasn’t on tour, in Venice Beach, Los Angeles, United States. Lydon competed in Eurosong 2023 as a member of Public Image Ltd with the song “Hawaii,” which was written in honor of Forster. On April 6, 2023, news of her Alzheimer’s-related passing at the age of 80 was released.
