Overwatch 2 Starwatch

Overwatch 2 Starwatch: Overwatch 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Blizzard Entertainment’s immensely popular team-based shooter, Overwatch, is set to introduce a brand-new game mode called Starwatch.

This thrilling addition will take players on an exciting journey through space, pitting teams of heroes against each other in epic battles. In this article, we will delve into the details of Overwatch 2 Starwatch and explore what makes it a truly remarkable experience.

What is Overwatch 2 Starwatch Event?

Season 4’s Starwatch add-on, Galactic Rescue, is time-limited. The Watchers and the Infinite Empire, each made up of four modified heroes from Overwatch 2, battle it out to accomplish various goals. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the teams are really evenly matched.

Others believed that Baptiste and Lucio aren’t good healers for Winston and Doomfist, and the Mercy-boosted Bastion seemed excessively unbalanced. ‘It feels like they picked the skins first and built the teams based on what the artists’ skin concepts looked like,’ remarked one player.

Selling skins is the sole purpose of this game mode. Even though I’m not a Star Wars fan, I think the concept is interesting and novel. However, I can see why so many people enjoy it.

Overwatch 2 Starwatch Event: Starting and Ending Dates

Starwatch, a time-limited event in Overwatch 2, will run from May 9 to May 22. This gives players about two weeks to jump in and experience the current space-themed spectacular, which is standard for in-game events.

Overwatch 2 Starwatch Event introduces new Galactic Rescue game mode

Galactic Rescue is a new game mode coming to Overwatch 2 as part of the Starwatch event. In this 4v4 playlist, teams’ outfits designate them as either the Infinite Empire or the Watchers.  Sigma, Mercy, Sojourn, Soldier 76, and possibly more are all members of the Infinite Empire, making it appear like a potent legion.

The Watchers have a diverse cast of characters that players can assume, including Torbjorn, Wrecking Ball, and Lucio. NPC Bonebreaker, also known as Doomfist, will be joining the Watchers in an effort to rescue drone 3—HCO before she reveals the rebellion’s strategy. These two squads will compete to either conquer or defend four distinct locations around the redesigned Horizon Lunar Colony.

Horizon Lunar Colony rework in the Starwatch event

Two contentious maps were taken out of Overwatch in early 2022, years before Overwatch 2 was released. Horizon Lunar Colony was one of them. Since the sequel does not have any kind of Assault game mode, the level can only be played for fun in the Arcade mode.

However, Horizon is making a comeback of its own with the new Starwatch event. To accommodate the new Galactic Rescue game mode, Blizzard has “reworked” the terrain. The red hue of the landscape is a result of the addition of four additional capture locations and an increased presence of the nefarious Galactic Empire.

The Watchers will have to fight their way past Laser Turrets if they want to win the map and claim the objectives. Gravity Implosion Barrel technology has also been unveiled. When these are destroyed, a Zarya-like Graviton Surge will be released at the site, unleashing havoc on everybody in the area.

Starwatch event rewards in Overwatch 2 Season 4

Playing this special Starwatch mode for a short time only grants access to a variety of Overwatch 2 event goodies.
According to a recent tweet for Overwatch 2, players who don’t want to spend a lot of money can still get some cool stuff, such as an Epic Wrecking Ball skin, a Weapon Charm, and more.

Several of these space-themed skins will likely be available in the Overwatch store for the duration of the event, allowing players to spruce up their heroes with some new threads if they have some spare Overwatch coins.

How to Get the Free Wrecking Ball Skin in Overwatch 2 Starwatch Event?

Wrecking Ball is getting a new skin that gives him an alien appearance. He’s got purple skin, no pupils in his eyes, and a unique paint job on his mech.

By achieving certain in-game milestones, you will gain access to the skin. All of the Starwacth quests and awards for Overwatch 2 are as follows:

  • Complete Orbit – Complete 5 Starwatch Event Challenges – Hammond Astroid Skin + 30,000 XP
  • Starwatch Veteran – Weapon Charm and 2,500 XP
  • Big Bang – Destroy 3 Gravity Canisters – Spray and 2,500 XP
  • Quantum Life – Resurrect a Teammate – Sigma Voice Line and 2,500 XP
  • Zero Gravity – Stay airborne in low gravity for 4 seconds – Spray and 2,500 XP
  • Protostar – Complete 4 Games – 2,500 XP
  • Shoot for the Stars – Complete 8 Games – 2,500 XP
  • Rebel of the Galaxy – Complete 12 Games – Doomfist Voice Line and 2,500 XP
  • Hero of the Galaxy – Complete 16 Games – Get Hammond’s Wish and 2,500 XP

Most of these are easy to do. Maintaining zero-g for four seconds could be the most challenging. To complete this mission, simply switch to a hero in Overwatch 2 who is more agile in the air, such as Mercy or Sojourn. Each game counts toward all of the ones for completing games, and they add up quickly.

There is no need to perform 8 followed by 12 and then 16. You can reach the highest tier by completing just 16 games in total. If you’re still using Overwatch’s newest hero, the unlock procedure is similar to that of the recently released Lifeweaver skin.

Once the Overwatch 2 Starwatch event begins, you can begin tackling these tasks. You’ll need to act fast if you want to take advantage of it before May 22.

Overwatch 2 Starwatch Event: How It Works?

Overwatch 2 Starwatch

With its new holiday event, Starwatch, Overwatch 2 explores the genre of space opera. Starwatch is an ambitious new path for Overwatch events, with a tie-in comic, a slew of extremely bright cosmetics, and a special limited-time mode that is every bit as grand and over the top as its inspirations.

The fate of the Starwatch world is determined by the community, with player choices (and skill) determining the victor between the insurgent Watchers and the tyrannical Galatic Empire. The Galactic Rescue limited time mode (LTM) is a new hybrid PvP/PvE mode that is guaranteed to shake things up in the Arcade.

Players will choose which of the two factions to support. In addition, there are a ton of tasks to do for cool space-themed cosmetics and incentives, like an Epic skin for Wrecking Ball that you can get for free, with more available in the shop if you have some spare Overwatch Coins. Lots of work and study lie ahead.

Overwatch 2 Starwatch Challenges

In this Overwatch 2 event, there are nine Starwatch challenges to complete for in-game goodies. Two sprays, a keepsake, a weapon charm, two voice lines, and the legendary Asteroid Wrecking Ball skin are among the prizes up for grabs.
