Nancy was hospitalized for a total of a year and a half due to complications from pneumonia, but she never gave up hope of survival. She had an impressive career, highlighted by articles in places including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the journal of New York University’s law school, The National Law Journal, and Crain’s.
The American Lawyer even named her Dealmaker of the Year. In addition to her stellar track record as a lawyer, she also contributed to the C.F.R.
Lieberman was also a professor at Columbia Law School, where he had an adjunct position. Nancy is a co-founder of the nonprofit New Yorkers to Cure Paralysis, whose mission is to find a cure for paralysis.

In 1977, Nancy received both the Summa Cum Laude and the Phi Beta Kappa degrees from the University of Rochester. She went on to the University of Chicago Law School, from which she graduated in 1979 at the tender age of 22.
After thereafter, the late attorney served as a clerk for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans before going on to get an LLM in Tax from New York University in 1981.
She, too, began her stellar 40-year career at Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. By joining Skadden at such a young age, she made headlines all around the world. Changes in policy in her home state of New York were made possible in large part because of her efforts.
